Join the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce for a timely year-end Roundtable with
Dr. Stephanie Bulger, President of Lane Community College, as she shares how Lane is positioning itself for the future. Dr. Bulger will highlight Lane’s third consecutive year of enrollment growth, the launch of new certificate programs and two new bachelor’s degrees – including the BS in Nursing – and recent progress on capital projects funded by the 2020 bond. She will also address key federal and state challenges facing community colleges and discuss how Lane is evolving to meet regional workforce needs and serve the next generation of students.
About the speaker:

Dr. Stephanie Bulger became Lane Community College’s eighth president on July 1, 2022. With a Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of Michigan and a background in English and literature, she brings deep experience and a commitment to student success.
Before joining Lane, Dr. Bulger served in leadership roles in community college systems in California and Michigan. Her work has centered on expanding opportunity, supporting innovation, and using technology to strengthen teaching, learning, and workforce development.
At Lane, she is focused on increasing equitable access and building strong pathways for students and local employers. Under her leadership, the college has reversed a decade of enrollment decline and is advancing its role as a regional hub for talent and economic vitality. She also serves on the boards of Oregon State University, the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce, and on AACC’s Commission on Economic and Workforce Development.
Outside her professional role, Dr. Bulger enjoys outdoor adventure, yoga, the arts, family history, and reading presidential biographies—drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of the southern Willamette Valley.
