Name: FOR the TREES
Date: September 10, 2025 - September 11, 2025
Event Description:
Step inside Eugene Science Center's planetarium for a view of Oregon's forests like never before. For the Trees is a first-of-its-kind, 360-degree virtual reality documentary that brings you face to face with the people, practices and places shaping the future of Oregon’s working forests. After the screening, stick around for a panel conversation with forestry experts and community voices to talk more about what you’ve seen—and ask your own questions. Whether you’re curious, concerned or just want to learn something new, this is an experience you won’t want to miss. ABOUT THE FILM: Oregon’s forests are part of who we are—and what we’re building for the future. But as catastrophic wildfires grow more intense and forests go unmanaged, the stakes are getting higher. For the Trees is a 29-minute 360° film that takes you deep into Oregon’s timberlands to explore how sustainable forestry can support clean water, healthy wildlife habitat, renewable materials and access to the outdoors. This immersive experience shows how one of Oregon’s oldest industries is evolving to meet today’s biggest challenges. VR viewing available before/after the film. Film Run Time: 29 minutes | Rated G
