Many of you tell us that attracting, retaining, and training a skilled workforce is a top priority for you. Because it’s important to you, it is for your Chamber as well. That’s why we’ve dedicated our May Business Breakfast to exploring together those shared challenges and successes. It’s important to us that you be part of the conversation as we greatly value your opinion.
Our panel:
Dr. Sue Rieke-Smith , Superintendent of Springfield Public Schools
Celeste Edman, Lunar Logic
Kristina Payne, Lane Workforce Partnership
Jose daSilva, Springfield High School
At
Workforce Development – Building a Talent Pipeline we’ll hear from Springfield Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Sue Rieke-Smith on what the school district is doing to prepare youth for the workforce, and what you can do to be involved. She’ll also update members on next steps resulting from the
Business Summit on Workforce Readiness at which many of you participated. We’ll also hear from Kristina Payne, Executive Director of the Lane Workforce Partnership about programs you can tap into, and from Springfield High School’s Principal Jose da Silva on what Career and Technical Education looks like and what it means for students. And if that’s not enough, Celeste Edman, CEO of Lunar Logic will present on the company’s very successful recruitment and training model. As always, there will be plenty of time on the program for Q&A and dialogue with each of the guest panelists.
