Steve Martin and Edie Brickell perform with the esteemed bluegrass combo Steep Canyon Rangers. A
unique hybrid of bluegrass and comedy, the evening showcases material from their album Love Has Come For You as well as songs from Martin's album Rare Bird Alert and other new tunes.
This Steve and Edie collaboration of
banjo playing and folksy, bluesy vocals presents traditional storytelling with modern touches (“When you get to Asheville, send me an email”). Steve, Edie and the Rangers invite us into an intimate world of
eloquent, thoughtful songwriting and entertaining, playful banjo picking, similar to what you’d hear in a living room concert.
This highly anticipated tour is the first for Martin and Brickell. The duo performs new music from their upcoming album, Love Has Come For You, featuring 13 eloquent rootsy compositions that combine Martin’s inventive five-string banjo work with Brickell’s distinctive vocals and vivid, detail-rich lyrics. The album also features the esteemed bluegrass combo The Steep Canyon Rangers with whom Martin recorded his latest Grammy nominated album Rare Bird Alert.
