OREGON COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION RECEIVES EXCELLENCE AWARD

EUGENE, OR – Oregon Community Credit Union, headquartered in Eugene, OR, was recently honored with a Credit Union National Association Excellence in Operations, Sales and Service Award, which recognizes innovative solutions optimizing credit union performance.

The award was presented by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Operations, Sales & Service Council, a national network comprised of more than 850 credit union operations, sales & service professionals across the United States. Awards were given in each of four categories, including Sales & Service Management, Branch Design, Contact Center/E-Support, and Miscellaneous.

Oregon Community Credit Union won in the Branch Design category for its video entry, entitled “Branch Relocation with Non-Traditional Branch Design,” featuring Oregon Community’s Salem Service Center. The Salem Service Center features modern offerings and facilitates 24/7 member access with next-gen ATMs. The traditional teller line has been replaced with pods to foster more personalized interactions with staff, and all staff are now universal employees called Service Center Representatives, which has streamlined staffing while improving service to members.

“We set out with the goal to have technology that would allow members and shared branch members to self-serve on basic teller transactions, freeing up the branch staff to spend more time with our members who really needed more detailed personal attention,” said Mandy Jones, CEO of Oregon Community. “We succeeded and are thrilled to not only win this award, but to be able to share the results with our peers so they, too, can enhance service by offering more self-serve options to their membership.”

“The OpSS Council Excellence Award recognizes and honors credit unions for their leadership and vision in Operations, Sales and Service in the credit union industry," said Steve Stryker, Chair of the Awards Committee for the CUNA OpSS Council.  “We were overwhelmed by the amazing stories all of the entrants shared with us and they should be proud of what they have achieved.  Whether it is remaking a branch for the 21st Century or collaborating with other credit unions to save members money, their creativity and originality can inspire us all.”
